Strathcona Project - Another Big Reveal Video...
We completed this big reveal in early July but with summer holidays and other projects we’ve had on the go, we haven’t gotten around to posting the big reveal video for our #SCIDstrathconastandout - so today we are finally sharing it with you!
We don’t always video our clients when they see their house after the renovation has been completed and we’ve finished all of the styling… but this client happens to be a professional video maker (that is definitely his official title) so we knew from the get go that we’d be doing a big reveal video for them! People tend to be a bit reserved when they walk in for two reasons. 1- they are being videoed. Not everyone is super comfortable with a video dude capturing their every reaction. In other words, everyone is not me. ha ha 2 - it’s a lot to take in. Even though they’ve seen their house progress over the months, they haven’t yet seen it completely decorated and move in ready. So they are stunned silent trying to take in all of the details while looking good on camera.
If the client is willing and able, the ideal situation is to have them move out for a few days. That way we can style the house with the big stuff that is really significant. The reveal isn’t nearly as impactful if the client is seeing the lights and draperies go up so if at all possible, we like to reveal it after those items have been installed, along with the decor items. Thankfully this client was willing to stay at Grandma’s for a week so we could have a few surprises for them! Not naming names or anything but someone (ahem. he makes videos) wouldn’t stay at Grandma’s but did make sure to wear a hood over his head and look only at the floor when he was in the house! So we consider that a win for sure.
Shortly we will post before and after pics of this house so you can see it’s progression but you may catch a few on our instagram if you follow us there! The client is thrilled with the outcome and Miter Renovations did a fabulous job on the construction - we all made a really good team and that is a critical part of a successful reno project. Plus the client was super chill… in fact, I wish the project hashtag was #SCIDclientsuperchill but alas, we went with #SCIDstrathconastandout - because this project is a definite standout! The best thing we heard after completion was that even though it was a renovation, it looked like the house had been this way the entire time!
