Rendering to Reality
Renderings can be a useful tool in many different facets. The most prevalent one is a visualization of how the finishes, furniture and intricate design elements will communicate with each other. Part of our process as SCID is to walk you through everything we have carefully selected for your home as a complete narrative. Seeing the finishes on the table and getting a feel for texture and colour is one important element but when accompanied with the visual weight that a rendering depicts the client is now able to picture themselves in their home.
A full video walkthrough takes this a step further. When a client is renovating their existing space and removing walls or relocating rooms it can be hard for us as designers to verbally communicate the considerable impact this update will have on your home, and to adequately explain the increase in space or the light it will now let through.

With our Varsity Estates client specifically, you can see above how removing the wall dividing the kitchen and the family room opened up the space to better suit our clients needs. The kitchen could then be extended and symmetry could be added to the family room. The rendering proved to be invaluable in this specific case as they were able to see the impact and benefits of this change.

One of the important things we often have to remind ourselves and our clients of when we are including renderings in their presentation is that it is a representation rather than reality. While the renderings are hyper-realistic there is still a considerable difference present.

We love being able to offer our clients 3D renderings and video walkthroughs of their space before construction starts in order to help them visualize the design better and in order to build confidence as they head in to a major renovation or new build project. We are so excited to share more of our Varsity Estates Project with you so keep an eye out on Instagram for content to come!
