All hail COLOUR! Now, don’t get me wrong…I love a good neutral palette and interior just as much as the next designer. BUT! I have to admit my excitement when I saw that Pantone had announced their 2023 Colour of The Year as Viva Magenta!

How could I not be excited? We’re in brown season here in Calgary and I wear a lot of black so I’m craving colour! It’s fun to see something as bold and bright as magenta get selected!
What is Viva Magenta you ask?

I’d have to agree when it says magenta promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration! I have one BRIGHT pink cashmere sweater that I swear occasionally and it is like getting an instant face lift! I get at least one compliment every time I wear it and it really does brighten my mood.
You’ll also recall our project from last year that included bright pink side chairs. This client knew she NEEDED colour in her home and pink makes her insanely happy so when we found this fabulous cut velvet from JF Fabrics we were pretty excited that she went for it!
Don’t worry…we’ll never push a colour on you that you don’t love. We have a very detailed questionnaire that we send out when you book a consultation with us in order to get to know you and your likes/dislikes. One question of course, is what colours you love or hate. Our goal is to turn your home in to a perfect reflection of you and to thrill you to no end!
PS: I love these Pantone Mugs that are ridiculously expensive. One day I will own a set of six in the happiest of colours, including Viva Magenta if it ever comes back in stock!
